The Quiet Path Labyrinth
The Quiet Path Labyrinth was created during the summer of 1998. On September 20, 1998, it was dedicated to "All Living Beings" during a special ceremony. The event was open to all belief systems and a wide variety of people honored the labyrinth in their own way. There were Buddhist Monks who chanted, a Celtic Priest who intoned a blessing, an African American Water Libation Ceremony, a Native American Incantation and a Wicken Practioner. Vocalist, Sapphira Windsinger sang "Spiral to the Center of the Light" by Deneen. All who participated, including the observers, blessed the land and the sacred space that the labyrinth has created.
The Path remains open 24 hours a day seven days a week, and everyone is welcome. We did not buy commercial stones to define the path. Instead we invite people to bring stones and place them with a dedication on The Path. We have stones from Tokyo, Japan; Capetown, South Africa; Quebec City, Canada; and Paris, France. We are expecting stones from the UK and various other places abroad as our friends start returning from their vacations. We hope to have all 50 of the United States represented in the future.
If you are in the Chicago area, I would invite you to come and walk The Quiet Path.
