Progress Chart
Print and use the following table to keep track of your progress in the
course. An automated grade tracker is used within WebCT, but
most students find it useful to keep a progress table in their binder for quick
reference.

Note: If you choose not to write the Government Exam, your Final Mark for the course is the "Final School Mark".
Going into the Government Exam
If you choose to write the Government Exam, it accounts for 40% of your final grade. It is useful to be able to calculate what one needs to get on the Government Exam in order to reach a certain goal. This can be done using the following steps:
Step 1: Determine the final percentage that you wish to achieve in the course.
eg Let's say that a student wants to get a final grade of at least 86%.
Step 2: Take your Final School Mark (as a decimal) and multiply it by 60.
eg Let's say that a student has a Final School Mark of 83%. Therefore, 0.83 X 60 = 50.
Step 3: Take your goal from Step 1 and subtract it by the figure you calculated in Step 2.
eg 86 - 50 = 36.
Step 4: Take the number calculated in Step 3, divide it by 40, and multiply by 100 to determine the percentage that you must get on the Government Exam in order to reach your goal.
eg 36 / 40 X 100 = 90%
