Important Technology Breakthrough!

Announcing the new "Built-in Orderly organized Knowledge" (BOOK) device. It's a revolutionary breakthrough in technology: no wires, now electronic circuits, no batteries, and nothing to be connected or switched on. It's so easy to use; even a child can operate it. Just lift its cover.

Compact and portable, it can be used anywhere -- even sitting in an armchair by a fire. Its storage capacity is equivalent to a CD-ROM disk. Each BOOK is constructed of sequentially numbered sheets of paper called "pages". Each "page" is capable of holding thousands of bits called "information". These pages are locked in a custom fit device called a "binder" or "cover" that keeps the pages in their correct sequence. By using both sides of each page, manufacturers are able to cut costs by one half.

Information can be retrieved by simply opening the BOOK. Each page is scanned optically by the human eye which transmits the information directly to the human brain. A mere flick of the finger reveals the next page. A "browse" feature allows a you tomove instantly to any page in the BOOK. You can easily move forward and backward. Most BOOKs come with an "index" feature which pinpoints the exact location of any selected information for instant retrieval.

An optional "BOOK-mark" accessory can be used to mark any place in the sequence of pages. For instance you can mark the endpoint of a session with a "BOOK-mark" and instantly return to that exact location at a future date. BOOK-marks fit universal design standards; thus a single BOOK-mark can be used in BOOKs from various manufacturers.

Another optional accessory is the "Portable Erasable-Nib Cryptic Intercommunication Language Stylus" (PENCILS) can be used to insert additional information into a BOOK or be used to create a whole new BOOK.

Portable, durable, and affordable, the BOOK is the infotainment wave of the future. The rising popularity of this new medium is pushing new BOOK titles to the market at an exponentially increasing rate.

One last and certainly timely note. BOOKs are certified as Y2K compliant. :-)
