a collection of pre-initiatory teaching papers
Welcome to our library! This is our growing collection of instructional resources suitable for pre-initiatory reading. We also offer a small leavening of humour, and links to outside information that can be used by a teacher.
The wise reader may also wish to view the collection of resources held in Wild Rose Outer Grove's library.
Pagan Rites for General Use
- Full text of a Pagan handfasting suitable for use in "mixed company", along with aides-memoire for the various scripted participants.
Instructional Materials
- Coven of the Stone and Mirror's
reading-list.
- A Witch's Guide to Staying Healthy in the Snow , a handbook on health and safety in outdoor rituals and winter campouts, based largely upon technical papers from the Natick Labs, supplemented by the authors' own experiences in winter camping.
- Relaxation exercises from U.S. Army Field Manual 22-9; a prime example of turning swords into ploughshares.
- Essays on Gardnerianism by:
- Frederic Lamond's notes on the history of Gardnerian Witchcraft in Britain, written for Beaufort House in June, 1998.
- Brigantia's essay on the need for secrecy.
The Art of Teaching
- Articles from Stanford University's newsletter, Speaking of Teaching:
These articles were written for a readership mostly comprising graduate teaching assistants; think of this as the "Maiden's Corner" of our library. All of these articles are in Adobe's Portable Document Format.
- Excerpts from Teaching at Stanford:
These articles were written for faculty members and graduate teaching assistants, and with a modest amount of translation they are also useful to coven leaders and those who are in training to become coven leaders.
- Our own Teacher's Book: an organisational resource for teachers of Pagan groves and study groups.
Other Resources
- The latest (1998) edition of the U.S. Army Chaplain's Handbook entry on Gardnerian Wicca.
- Relevant pages from the University of Florida Disaster Handbook:
-
Protecting valuable records against disaster.
-
Drying water-soaked books and papers.
-
Salvage of rain-soaked computer equipment.
Al K'nun al'Vrazuus (Miscellanea)
- Some re-takes on the Craft Laws, in a decidedly trenchant vein:
No.61, on sleeve rings, applied to robes as a means of Traditional and rank identification.
