This is the page where we pay homage to characters in the books.
There are 2 awards given out, and changed once a month, and the material to the tribute is submited by you. The first award is for a good creature [not a hero, though, becuase there arn't enough of them], whether it be sidekick, Abbess or dibbun, and the second to an evil creature [Not the chief antagonist, there arn't enough of them], captain, ect. It's to show we appriciate the secondary characters, who sometimes get lost in the woodwork, because without them, there would be not story, now would there? Send nominations here
The Jakes Award
Named For Brian Jacques
This month we honor
Basil Stag Hare, camouflage-expert and footfighter
As if by magic a lanky hare popped up right beside Matthias. An odd patchwork creature, his fur was an ashen hue with blots of grey and light-brown flecked white on the underbelly. He was very tall, with formidable hefty hind legs and a comical pounced face topped off by two immence ears which flopped about of thier own accord. With a courtly, old-fashioned manner, the hare made a leg, bowing gracefully. His voice carried a slight, affected quaver.
"Ahem, as a retired regimental buffer, I'd like to toast anything on toast, cheese, mushrooms, what have you..."
...Basil hurtled in with both long back legs kicking dangerously...
"Noble creatures, stags," the hare sighed. "Did I ever tell you I wanted to be one; a magnificent royal stag with great coathanger antlers? So, I went down to the jolly old river one night and cristened m'self Staf!Had two toads and a newt as witnesses, y'know. Oh yes."
Basil Stag Hare at your service, sir! Expert scout, hindleg fighter, wilderness guide, and camoflauge specialist, ahem, liberater of tender young crops, carrots, lettuse, and other such strange beasts.
..."Couldn't go of course. Dear me no. That'd never do. Chap desrting his post; bit of bad show, what, what?"...
"I wish Basil Stag Hare was here, he'd think of some good names to call that bird."
The Vile Award
Named For Evil
This month The Vile Award goes to the vixen Fortunata, who served the insame ruler of Kotir, Tsarmina. If you hava favorite quote from the book, send it here.
Fortunata gave Gingivere the beaker containing the prepared draught. Tsarmina nodded to her, and they left the room together. Outside in the corridor the wildcat gripped the fox's paw in her powerful claws. "well, did you fix the medicine?"
Fortunata winced in pain as the claws sank in. "Twice. Once before the mouse came in, and just now before we left. He's taken enough poison to lay half the garrison low."
Tsarmina pulled the vixen close, her cruel eyes burning. "Good, but if he's still alive in the morning you had better prepare some for yourself. It would be alot easier than facing me if you fail."
...cold hatred for the cruel vixen...
"You have lived the life of a traitor and earned the reward of treachery. Tell your deceitful tales to whoever meets you at the gates of Dark Forest."
...the sly vixen...
..."Martin grabbed Gonff and ran back up the stairs, giving Fortunata a good slash across the rump with the blade as he went...Fortunata, who had suffered a loss of dignaty, tried not to rub her wounded rump...
