I own the video and I watch it like it was my job. I would be propud if i was related to mr. Andrews, because of the heroism that he gave to the people of the ship that he designed. But with Bruce Ismay, cowards like that god will get himself. Titanic is not just a story, it is a true fact about what happened on April 12, 1912. Favorite Andrews Actor: don't have one yet... | Comments: I, too, have been fascinated by Thomas Andrews for a bunch of reasons. First, reading about how wonderful he was, in "Night to Remember", and several other sources. His picture, to me, strikes a chord, why I'm not sure. When I realized he was born unde the sign of Aquarius, I realized why he was the way he was. I have always been drawn to people like him, who work for the good of a group goal, not an individual one. He was truly a gifted human being and loved. His "pals" at the shipyard are testimon al to that. I want to get this book about him - hopefully I"ll order it in the new year. Anyway, keep up this site - I have loved reading about this wonderful human being, and hope that more information comes out about him in the future... |

It was a tragedy that he didn't survive. He would of been a big help during the investigation. It's a shame he went to his grave thinking it was his fault the ship sank. Off the subject. The most touching part of the new movie for me was when the woman was in bed with her two little children telling them a story. How sad that so many children died. I look at my own two kids about the same age of the two in the movie and it makes me cry everytime I watch it. |

I've now read Thomas Andrews' bio written in 1912 after the sinking. Now I see even more how well Victor Garber played the role. I was so moved I wrote a poem about Thomas Andrews. Kate Wins et said the love story of Jack & Rose made her want to go back and save that ship; it's the heaviness of Thomas Andrews' heart that makes me want to do the same. He cared so much for the people, his family, and his glorious, elegant ship. How it must hav pained him to think of her beauty rusting at the bottom of the ocean and how it may even have felt wrong to think of the ship at a time when so many were about to lose their lives. But how could he not think of her? She sailed on the oceans of his vein and in the sea of his heart. More than a man, more than a husband or father, more than a man earning a living, he was a shipbuilder; and Titanic was his baby. He lost so much, a future with his wife and child,the lives of his fellow shipmates, friendsh ps, and his love-Titanic. |
