Excerpts from a general report on the project...
Fortunately the co-ordinators in each school have remained the same, although other personnel have changed, as did the school in Italy. Emphasis was placed on the importance of senior management support and involvement in the original documents received on the "Comenius Project". I beluieve that this element is crucial. All partners, initially, had "ownership" of the project. When the staff changes, work has to be done to ensure that they also acquire ownership. Each school made efforts to meet the demands of the project. Material was exchanged on different subjects more or less by the dates agreed. We covered several curriculum ares and attempted to present work in a variety of ways using written work, illustrations, posters, photographs, video, tapes cd-rom and homepages. Communications have been by post, fax, email and telephone. At times we have been over ambitious. Occasionally the difficulty of matching groups, especially at the earlier stage, has caused some problems. Despite good intentions, we have all had to be understanding and accept and make compromises. At meetings diplomatic skills were continually in use as we all worked at maintaining good relationships whilst trying to reach conclusions and plans with which we were all happy. |
