Ebon House: Nightmare in a Minor Key

Unhappy Mermaid

Rust stained water geysers from
Her perfect mouth as a parody of a
Spoiled rich girl's death.
A thing of beauty is this lovely myth.
The lure that drove sailors
Mad and sucked their souls
From deep inside their breast.
What dark irony that
Hallowed marbled clay holds within its breast
A siren of the land.
Each a singer of unbearable, terrible beauty
Silenced forever by a love crazed
Sculptor's cold stone seal.
