• The background takes on the appearance of a beach.  The sand of the beach is reminiscent of the abundance of God's thoughts to us (Psalm 139:17,18).
• The beach also reminds me of a desert father who once was trying to explain to a brother the small capacity of the human mind in understanding God.  So he told the brother to dig a hole in the sand, take a pale, and try to fill up that hole with all the water that is in the ocean.  Of course it can not be done!
• There is a spotlight reminding us to let our light shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).  Which is part of my motivation for creating this image.  The light that we shine, and the essence of our being is entirely due to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ who saved us.
• The runner is symbolic of the race we are running to get in to heaven; "...let us set aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." (Hebrews 12:1).
• The birds remind us not to worry about the race we are running.  "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:26)
