Background

I was born and raised in Southern California.

Because I left home at 17 years old, and paid my way through college, I have held many different jobs (sometimes three at once). I've been a fast food worker, managed a self-serve gas station and mini-mart (at the age of 18), temped as a receptionist, been a private Spanish tutor, sold advertising, worked the obituary and bridal desks of a newspaper, and been "Queen of the Copy Machine" making copies as a teacher's assistant at a high school. I think my experiences have really prepared me for life, as I can relate easily to many different types of people and situations.

In my spare time, I love to read, surf the 'net, watch movies, travel, go dancing, learn new languages, and listen to music (everything from house, trance, and techno to Barbra Streisand, jazz, and J-Rock).

Interests, Activities & Plans

On November 8, 2003, I woke up with a pain in my left hip. It took five doctors to discover that I had fractured the femoral necks of both my left and right hips. My surgery was on December 18, 2003. I spent Christmas in a nursing home! Unfortunately, due to an overzealous physical therapist, I cracked my right hip once again and had to have another surgery on March 6, 2004. I've been diagnosed with osteoporosis and am now taking Fosomax to rebuild my bone mass. Needless to say, this has certainly affected me and my family. It's been the hardest thing I've ever been through.

I love to travel, and have been to Mexico, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, and Fiji. In the U.S., I've spent at least six days in New York City, Chicago, New Orleans, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Antonio, and Las Vegas.

In June of 1996, I shattered my left ankle in a skydiving accident. Jumping 3,000 feet out of an airplane was something I'll never forget. I have nine pins and a metal plate in my ankle as unexpected souvenirs!

I am very embarrassing to drive with, as I love to sing aloud to every song that comes on the car radio. Luckily, most people tell me I have a good voice.

Some more things about me, but nowhere near 100 of them:

  1. I bruise easily.
  2. I don't forget, but have been known to forgive.
  3. I adore listening to people's accents.
  4. I eat carbs unapologetically.
  5. I am left-handed.
  6. I am near-sighted.
  7. I am flat-footed.
  8. I am double-jointed.
  9. I have strong tendencies towards laziness.
  10. I have been known to binge, but I never purge.
  11. I am the world's slowest scrapbooker.
  12. I suck at most everything athletic.
  13. I get obsessed with something for weeks, then drop it and move on.
  14. I can't stand crass behavior. Pick your 'fro in a bathroom, not the library!
  15. I have osteoporosis.
  16. I first played Spin the Bottle when I was 35 years old.
  17. I got my ears pierced for my 16th birthday.
  18. I quite deliberately set out to lose my virginity when I was 15.
  19. I am terrible at math. I still count on my fingers. Stop laughing.
  20. I don't like writing with pencils.
  21. I was a Girl Scout. My mother was, my grandmother was, so I had to be one too.
  22. I loathe animals, especially dogs.
  23. OMG, I hate clowns! Especially clowns with teeth! Especially midget clowns with teeth! Oh, the horror! The horror!
  24. I am ferociously pro-choice. Ferocious, I tell you. To the point where I just cannot even hold a civil conversation about it.
  25. I so enjoy the fresh taste that toothpaste leaves in my mouth that I sometimes delay eating
  26. I love to cuddle. Love it. *shivers and smiles dreamily*

I can't stand: People popping gum, people who spit in public, people who say "Know what I'm sayin'?", having to watch TV commercials at the movie theatre that I've already seen on TV (at least show us some exclusive 'movie theatre only' ads), watching sports on TV, Christians, women who vote Republican (traitors!!!), vegans.

I like: trees, imagination-inducing cloud formations, lightning, brownies, Jane Austen, school supplies, pink, my Jeep Grand Cherokee, yellow roses, daffodils, ferns, clean sheets, Target, Banana Republic, Cher, Ranger and Morelli, Jaime and Claire, when Chuy tries to speak English.

I'm still on the fence about: adopting, Starbucks, Ritalin, cargo pants, Tivo, green tea, soy milk

If I were a man, I would be attracted to: Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jude Law, Kyan Douglas, Jai Rodriguez.

But since, thankfully, I am not a man, I am attracted to: Oded Fehr, David Boreanaz, James Marsters, Colin Firth, Moritz Bliebtreau, Hugh Jackman and my steadman, Chuy!

I am not sexually attracted to: Kevin Federline, Ben Affleck, Tom Selleck, George Clooney, Larry David, Gary Shandling, Woody Allen, Clea Duvall.

Do you want to bore me? Start talking about: Pope John Paul II, sports, drugs, The Bachelor, your guns, your job, your kids, your dogs, the great MLM product you are shilling, NASCAR.
