Buddy Guy?
This is to state that Isobabarb has been excused from arriving home on time and from reporting to work in a timely manner due to inexplicable, but certainly understandable, occurrences of time rip in the Chicago area. Significant currents included an Italian restaurant (where a party that DB was a party of was the only party), Chianti (yum), smoky corridors (pu-wee) and a blues Legend (?).Please note that for my part I am only reporting the matter to the Karass. Neither do I claim nor do I deny any responsibility or accountability in this matter. Simply this is a state of being we must all accept. And the time rip has been closed.

For those of the KARASS who did not quite get the details behind this........
Last evening (that being tues feb 11) Karassian John C. blasted into town on the wings of his employer, quickly completed his work, and promptly invited myself (Paul the only very slightly younger) and ISOBARB to join him for an evening of FROLIC and CAVORTMENT.
The events included:

I wasn't there (had to teach) but per a suggestion on my part they
descended on one of the better "family" owned I-talian restaurante's in
town and apparently had a good din-din.

>Smoky corridors
ambiance
>Blues Legend
Aha!.... now who could this have been that we saw for a mere FIVE dollar
cover charge, and who played a totally BITCHIN' version of Mannish Boy,
followed up by personally autographing material for JC (no... not HIM...
the Karass member JC) and ISOBARB.
ISO-POINTS for the person who gets the name right the first time.

His internationally famous club (located just to south of metropolitan Chi-town) is called "Legends" and sports regular visits from the likes of Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Junior Wells, and (till he died) Stevie Ray Vaughn
Oh... incidentally he plays guitar.

Having recently seen the PBS tribute to Stevie Ray (it was pledge year that week...) I could go through the entire list of "legends." As long as we're still guessing, may as well start at the top...

Outstanding..... Points for the Guru of the Karass sight.
The master of blistering Chicago Blues Guitar plays in his club, unannounced, maybe twice a month and then only for two or three songs. We managed to catch the whole set and it was phenominal to say the least.

I have heard of Luther Allison but with all the blues I've listened to
over the years up here I am unable to differintiate tween him and all
them others.
I try to attend the blues-fest every summer (it goes on for a week and
often brings as many as 1,000,000 a day to Grant Park). Sooooo I may or
may not have heard Luther Allison live.
I will point out, however, that three years ago I got to sit in the press
section (that being literally right against the front of the stage)
during the big festival closing show which had Dr. John as headliner. It
was purty kewl.

Figure of speech on my part..... actually it wasn't as loud as say the
Pink Floyd concert, here in chicago, when the whole family was under the
stage-left speaker pile (That was LOUD!)

I've written July 13-15 down in my calendar. I tried to confirm the
date at
http://www.citystages.org but my Netscape kept dumping core.
Why they have it in such a hot time of the year we can't figure out.
Unless of course so they sell more beer! But really, we wish it was
in May.

June 5-8, when the sun is out and beer flows freely. Should join us this
year, it makes for a good time.
Actually we should try and have the anniversary when one of the big
events is going on. Either the blues festival, or the Jazz festival, or
the Air Show (which usually coincides with the Jazz Fest right around
July 4th) or any of a number of other festivals.
