The one I remember best, of course, was the last leg of the trip for poor Mark, when he decided to extricate himself from the maroon sick-wagon and traipse on up the road in a slightly older, XX-mobile - a 1967 122S. With a master brake cylinder that needed refilling after each brake effort. But with an amazing amphibian nature that got us through officially closed roads that went through the Sequoia National Forest - which we were determined to see at all costs. If you've never driven through roads covered in a foot of mud in a non-four wheel drive vehicle, it's a learning experience. Fortunately for us, there was a two foot deep stream (which was about 75 yards wide) right after the mud that rinsed the car off nicely. Lucky for us, the stream decided not to sweep us down river. Unlucky that the stream decided to splash enough water into the engine compartment to drench distributor and air cleaners. Luckily, XX had thoughtfully thrown in some tools to remove and dry these items just after the car drifted out of the opposite side of stream. Unlucky for us that our wedding clothes fared not too well - especially after we drove under three downed saplings.
Lucky that we DID make it in time for the ceremony, which was really cool to see (it was my first Jewish wedding). Then, I loaded the film in Dave's Hasselblad the wrong way and shot the entire roll.
Oh well.
AIRWUG 1
My first contribution to KARASS memorbilia was after much prodding for a camera ISOBARB finally gave me the half-frame and some film with the offhand comment "Don't shoot it all at once". So I set up on the stairs behind the crowd and managed to shoot it all at once which everybody was happy for since these are the only pictures of the actual ceremony that turned out.
Thanks to AIRWUGS screw-up I finally got some respect as a potential photo-grapher.

Ahem.
The first contributions to Karass memorabilia were the pictures now preserved as .jpg's and .gif's on the Karass pages, which were taken in the summer of '73. The event under discussion didn't occur until nearly a decade later, and some of STILL haven't seen THOSE pictures.

Dave was probably reprimanded by Larry for doing just this with a motor-drive, I'll bet you anything!

Which makes me reinvent my name.

Glad YOU mentioned it, I was thinking of mentioning that fact, as I haven't either. OK, Paul. Wanna place bets on which of the Bornsides haven't seen 'em either?

I would like to point out that I began the sentence above with the word "My" as in mine. Prior to this time I, like the rest of my brothers, was an impartial observer to the nightly entertainment raging around me. The photos taken for the wedding EVENT were the first GOOD photos, provided by the snot-nosed younger Paul, that were appreciated by ISOBARB immediately after their creation.
As per the photos I took at the MUSICAL EVENT, some years prior to this, well.... those have gained respect simply by virtue of having survived.
Cine-Paul - who is well aware of ISTOHOW's disdain at being distinguished by age but habits die hard :-)
WOW... it all comes back to me now.... so thoese off center pictures were your's paul? and to think i was letting gilbs take credit for em.
