I have heard some weird phrases in my time both over the internet and in my own life that supposedly make some sense...
Here's a few of such phrases:
- tahelo - Okay. Unless you were with us when we started this one... then you have no idea what I'm talking about. Worked at school as a receptionist for one year and one of the nights while some of us were on duty (can't even remember if i was on duty) we searched through the game closet and found this game called "Huggermugger". Huggermugger means "secret" and I guess you could say this game is a trivial pursuit/English game. The point of the game is to get onto certain blanks to answer a question correctly so that you make peek at one of the letters of a word that is up to five letters long. And then guess the word correctly. The different questions you could land on are "Spelling Bee", "Vegetable Soup", a definition one or a hodgepodge one. For the soup one, it gives you mixed letters where you need to guess the word. Well I was doing well in that section so the one time that I picked it, I got the following letters: T-A-H-E-L-O. And my friend Batgirl was looking over my shoulder and just said "tahelo" and I couldn't concentrate. So I never got the word correctly. Afterwards, we used the word as an exclamation as one would use "No way!" or "yeah right" or something of that velocity. Oh and the word ended up to be "loathe".
This one guy I talk to online who is overseas comes up with a lot of uh interesting phrases:
- bloody scooby - bloody meaning "intensifier" and scooby meaning "clue". Talking with my friend again, I got this one "it means strongly not having a clue". To not have a bloody scooby whereas scooby doo is rhyming slang for clue. Sure it does...or something.
- burble - to talk meaningless gibberish (Also: flubble, fwunk, fwonk)
- dangly bits - another name for male genitalia. Aparently it's a kinder term or something.
- flappy zoomer - When asked, my friend stated "Standard UK (well, warwick) spod words, a right beggar to define well. If something flaps, it's, well. Not good, silly. Zoomer.. It's a Beebop word. As in, the spod called Beebop used it a lot. Generic abuse, really". And if any of you understand that, please send me e-mail.
- pigging slowly - very slowly
- sussed out - This aparently means "worked out".
I've been finding out that this guy who goes by Xytras has some rather odd slang as well. And this was in actually in the USA:
- pinching a loaf - "taking a dump" or "dropping a spike"
- throw an arch - Aparently this means to take a leak. He surely got annoyed no one knew what it meant at first.
