The Peculiar Bird

Play-With-Theater
In this Czech novel there the peculiar bird Klabizniak (= boaster) experiences
that he is different from all other birds. He is outcasted and driven away.
What shall he do? The wise owl and the moon give him advice. At the end
he helps himself.

The bookworm Professor Theobald dives into the world of phantasy
which grows out of inspecting his culinary pleasures (he likes best headlines
and craftwork instructions). Some strange figures turn up: one earwig, a penguin,
camels, one whale, which meet all at the stage or the shadow screen accompanied
with happy music.

According to the idea of the Jeux Dramatiques, the expressive play out of the
experience, the children are put into a phantasy world through different
sensations and a great variety of diverse materials (scarfs, feathers,
stones, etc.). A story told to the children is the base for their play, which
is not intended to be performed but is only dedicated to their own sensation.
