Rocket Impact (indirect)

To determine the effect of indirect rocket fire, the Off-Board Indirect table is used. Determining the impact point is the same as in On-Board Indirect, but in this case, the impact point is re-designated every turn whether the point is adjusted or not. The amount of adjustment is doubled, and the impact radius is 16" (8" in 1/285). The number of rockets fired is the ROF factor number on the table. For more than 20, roll as many times as required to make the total (e.g. twice on 20 for 40 rockets).

Rocket Impact (direct)

The gun firing procedure is not used. It is assumed that the rocket or rockets will miss the target. Resolve the fire as above, but use the On-Board Indirect HE Fire table and the original 12" radius. Refer to the HE Firepower table also.

Mortar Fire

All indirect (spotted) mortar fire is resolved as On-Board Indirect fire. If the fire is direct, the firer has the option of the rounds landing within a 4" radius circle (use the Missed Direct HE table) and firing during the Direct Fire Phase, or an 8" radius circle (use the On-Board Indirect table) and firing during the Artillery Impact Phase. Mortars may be adjusted a maximum of 48" per turn without a one-turn firing delay. Each mortar unit has a listing on the Mortar Data Sheet. Note that except for the very large ones, mortars are fired in groups (even though they are represented by only one game piece). Maximum and minimum ranges are listed, as well as the firepower of the crew if the position is attacked.
