And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Hebrews 9:27
Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. Every man and woman since Adam has inherited that sin. Sin entered the world by one man Adam and death entered the world by sin
Sin and death were not all that entered the world that day—sickness, disease, suffering, and sorrow.
"Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed [is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Genesis 3:16-19
Women bring forth children in sorrow and pain
Man rules over the woman
The ground is cursed
Thorns and thistles grow in the same good ground where man grows his food
Man must labor in order to have food on his table
Man shall return to the dust of the earth from where he came.
Sin entered the world by man; death entered the world by sin; and all the rest followed because of sin. No wonder the world is in such a state today. It is not because of the Mayor; it is not because of the Governor or even the President of the United States. It is not because of poverty, racism, slavery, welfare, inflation, taxes, or any of the other excuses offered on the talk shows and even the news programs. No! The reason the world is in such a state today is because of sin.
Is there any hope for this world? Is there any hope for the Human race? The answer is, of course, yes.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Romans 5:19
Man can be made righteous by faith in One Man—Jesus Christ. Man’s sin brings death but the obedience of Jesus Christ brings eternal life.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:14—16
Numbers 23:10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
Proverbs 14:32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
Luke 16:22,23 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Dear God,
I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness.
I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins.
I am willing to turn from my sins.
I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior.
I am willing, by God’s strength, to follow and obey Jesus as the Lord of my life.
Pray this prayer or use your own words. God will hear if you are sincere. We have Him promise.
