Alright, I admit it when I see Wu Tang swarmin' us white folk on MTV I do get the willies. It must be the obligatory "beatdown" shot or all the white kids that love it. But what about  African American judges,  doctors, educators and others that know the best way to end racism is through dialogue and education? Are they going to abandon their life's work to be a commando in your army of revenge, justice, or whatever? Inter-racial families? Brett Farve and Robert Brooks? THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE A RACE WAR!!!! Now that that's out of the way we all should probably get back to working on our math and science test scores. Can you say global economy neighbor?

            The truth is, and I can say it's true with the vast majority of other members of my race (human) be it  white, black, magenta, or other, not to many people discriminate against anyone based on the color of their skin any longer. Unfortunately, this excludes a higher percent of 45 and up corporate america. And I don't see Winston Thorthrop passing up Win jr. and dishing any consultant positions my way either. Perhaps nepotism is just another survival instinct if you strip it down far enough. Although, in the wild defective young generally get eaten not promoted! Besides, they didn't grow up watching Sesame Street and Room 222!

             I don't know if you ever seen this show. I was really only about five, circa 1973, myself. It was set in a high school and was one of those shows that featured one teenager of each race. As I said I was young so I'm not sure if the weekly themes were race orientated or general high school crap. What I do remember was the one white kid had an enormous Fro!! It looked like a large blond shrub fell out of  a building and just landed there! You would think his friends and loved ones would have said something.

           Anyway, there are thousands upon thousands of African Americans that deserve and receive respect. And that have achieved their dreams through hard work and persistence. Right now there are some specific problems in the black community that generates the fear which is the root of all prejudice. Without going into specifics, the senseless violence must stop!!

            At one time or another almost every ethnic background has suffered at the hands of another. Were my ancestors wrong for enslaving a group of people and perpetuating civil rights inequality? Pretty much a no brainier. Were your ancestors (Egyptian) wrong for enslaving Hebrews ? Although not to popular with the media right now probably so. We even? You might also look at the stronger African Tribes who either enslaved for themselves, or sold out the weaker tribes into slavery (Ironically enough for liquor and gold). $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Money sucks! I wish I had some!

         If you look at all factors combined the truth is the human race is evolving . Slowly but surely we're finally starting to realize the importance of that cause:effect ratio thing. On the cosmic time scale humans have been around maybe for a blink of an eye or so. We got a long way to go. We all need to chill!

        Do I hate ignorant " niggaz "? Yes! Anymore than I hate my ignorant, white, walking keg of Busch beer, intolerant, redneck neighbor Earl and his wife/cousin Nancy? Not at all my friend. (Incidentally, an amusing tale involves, a telescope, Jupiter, "weed", Earl, and what else Beer!! If we manage to become pals remind me to elaborate.) If you look hard enough there's a reason to hate everybody. We all pretty much suck!

        Before I go any further I should probably take a moment to say that yes, I do realize there's a good chance that you're not even black. As 90% of Caucasian youth between 14-21 do a far more convincing "brother" than any African American I've met. If this be the case please forward our lively discussion without delay to an interested African American, that is if you're white and if you actually know any. Thanks. Also when you do begin your, as Hitler liked to call it,"ethnic cleansing" start with the aforementioned demographic group or Earl. They're both rather hopeless, without future, and what the hell I might even help! Oh yeah Lawyers!

        Anyway, regardless of how and why the situation is how it is, all of America has plenty of problems to help each other work out. Every day we glorify drugs and violence on our cable ready idiot boxes, radios, and at the movies. In the mean time real people, kids, are dying and all we think to do is tune in at eleven. Pretty sad! I haven't watched TV or seen a movie who's premise is violence in about a year. I encourage you to do the same. They're rather condescending once you think about it. Violent crime has actually dropped during the 90's, yet "News" coverage of violence has more than tripled! Transcending all races we're obsessed!!

         Religion and nationalism are a joke! I find it hard to believe that after all we've discovered about nature, the universe, evolution and psychology, we can still be conceited and dogmatic enough to kill each other over our claim to have a definitive understanding of a creator. For most it is nothing more than a tax free business! It was probably necessary to invent an ultimate moral judge for our primitive and barbaric societies to evolve past doing each other in. But as it would seem now, along with nationalism, drugs, and racism, it's one of the main things that's doing just that! Can you imagine where we might be right now as a society if it wasn't for " God's " historical fear and repression of knowledge? I am not trying to say there is no Creator. What I am trying to say is I don't know. And that I doubt if God would divinely inspire a ridiculously wrong fable of creation, endorse slavery, or condone violence as a valid  means of sociological evolution.

         I'm not even going to get started on politics, education, or the sorry state of the arts. All I've got to say on these issues for now are  a corrupt form of not so funny entertainment, completely misguided, and in a deep coma respectively, or interchangeably for that matter. Countries like Japan and Germany are cranking out engineers and computer scientists while we're teaching eubonics. You're definitely right when you say we're sleepin'! I just think we're companions in the same oblivious slumber.

         As far as the state of the arts I've only got one word "PuffDaddy". He seems to be an adequate symbol of how automated and insincere "black" music has become. I say this because "white" top 40 was always pretty much terrible. Charlie Parker and Miles Davis would roll over in their graves if they were subjected to this mindless crap! This guy wouldn't even have a career if it wasn't for the death of Christopher Wallace. (remember he had a real name)  " I'll Be Milking You ".

        Do you expect anything less than racism when Warren G broadcasts lyrics like " Who's the real victim the brother doin' the jackin' or the fool who's gettin' jacked "? Tell that to a mother that lost a son or daughter. Is this the prevailing view in the black community? If so maybe I'll become racist too. Yet white kids are the ones buying into this racist trash. Believe me if there is a conspiracy in this country, which I doubt, the signs point to the TV and radio brainwashing these permeable morons. Not the CIA and you.
       
        As I mentioned earlier the senseless violence must stop!! Kids are killing each other over tennis shoes made, ironically enough, by slaves. If you look down and see a pair of Nikes on your feet you might as well endorse slavery. Your efforts could be far better utilized organizing boycotts against companies such as these and those who sponsor violent TV and other media events. Write our favorite professional athletes and ask them to stop endorsing slavery!! Companies such as Nike and Reebok ship jobs over seas weakening our tax base and contributing to unemployment yet if we think our friends might be sporting a pair we'll stand in line to give these creeps our money. White and black America understands two things $ and mirrors. If we all made up our minds to boycott these companies I've got a feeling we might see some jobs coming back home, heck they might even agree to stop buying politicians and pay their fair share of taxes.

            About OJ's savior (gasp) the "N" word. I think it's more of a convenient way to describe a situation or set a scene. It's just easier to say "nigger" than  The African American gentleman who carried himself in a manner consistent with the term which technically does not encompass racial parameters, but instead refers to an undesirable member of a particular social hierarchy. Ya know?

        Fictional Example:

     The affluent African American gentleman who brutally murdered and nearly decapitated his ex-wife and an innocent bystander in a jealous rage in certain circles is sometimes refered to as a nigger.

        Actual Example:

    The two African American males who robbed and killed two mothers of three in separate instances during the 1996 holiday season in the Cleveland area are generally categorized as useless niggers by most white, and probably black people as well.

        I think everyone is just too sensitive. Actually insecure is a much better choice of words. It doesn't seem like sensitive fits our current social climate very well! Being only 5' 6"... ok 5'4",  society and the media hasn't made being considered the mega stud that I am today easy. With the exception of Michael J. " Who", they don't pass out many leading roles to vertically challenged males. I feel like a germ! There was of course Gary Coleman and that Webster dude which is little comfort. I always thought they were extremely racist and offensive to short people at the same time myself. Which if ya think about it gives us something in common. Waddya know?

             And let us not forget Hevre Villevge (A.K.A Tattoo). This  man paid the ultimate price of being considered small in our vertically intolerent cold world of hate and ill will. Feelings of vertical inadequacy plauged this gental man until suicide became his only solution. Either that or he came to the realization thet he was in fact a terrible actor. There was also a rumor involving He, Ricardo Montlebon, and Corinthian leather. Although I doubt the validity of this tale.

             Once at my ex place of employment during a disagreement a co-worker had the nerve to call me "Sprout" as in Green Giant's unfairly stereotyped sidekick. I probably could have gotten him fired for being insensitive! Instead I laughed. What a sucker. Only later did I realize the error of my ways when I found out that Sprout actually won a 3.5 million dollar discrimination suit against Green Giant and Libby Inc. in 1996. If I would have only known....

            What it comes down to is I think you could have just as easily written " A Short Man's Cry " , " A Fat Persons Cry ", An Ugly Person's Cry ", " A Mentally Ill Person's Cry ", or even " A Teen Who Takes School Seriously's Cry ". The only difference is these stereotypes and forms of discrimination are, for the most part, still perfectly acceptable, especially where the media is concerned. Hopefully next time we'll talk a little more about skinheads, Aryan youth, the KKK, Timmy McVie, or some other social cancers.
