Roxanne Watson Roxanne Watson, a doctoral student at University of Florida’s Journalism School, is a trained journalist and attorney-at-law. She earned her master’s degree in professional journalism from the University of Miami in 1991. Watson has worked variously in the print media as a reporter/sub-editor with the Gleaner, Jamaica’s foremost daily newspaper; and in public relations, both for the public and private sectors. In the process she has written and copy-edited news stories, features and releases and designed and written copy for newsletters, brochures and advertisements. Watson’s articles have been published in the Miami Herald, Miami Today, Miami Times, Strive Magazine, Jamaica Herald, Gleaner and other newspapers, and she has received awards for her poetry from the International Society of Poets. At law school Watson has been editor of both academic publications and the yearbook. Watson has voluntarily taught English language in an Adult Literacy Program and at a children’s home. |
