Chivalry in the Traditional Sense
Templars view chivalry in the traditional sense. That is, being a Templar is an opportunity to serve; knighthood is not so much an honour, as much as it is an obligation. Being a Christian, a Templar's aims should include:
  • service to God through Jesus Christ
  • service to humanity
  • service to one's local society, one's nation and the world

    Not Hostile Towards other Faiths
A Templar is not hostile to people of other faiths, and should encourage empathy, understanding, and peaceful resolution of misunderstanding.

    Chivalry in General
Orders of chivalry exist to benefit of humanity. Society would benefit from wider practice of chivalry. Good people have a right to engage in chivalry.

    Practicing Chivalry
The great challenge for a chivalrous person is that they should endeavour to behave with gallantry, courtliness politeness, courtesy, graciousness, good manners, and loyalty. When giving of oneself, a chivalrous person does so with anonymity and in such a way that the receiver does not feel as though they are recipients of charity. Refer to the silent knight program.
