The Mineral Springs Head Start is under the administrative supervision of Union County Community Action, Inc. and serves the counties of Union, Anson and Richmond. U.C.C.A. Head Start provides quality experiences for children and families through trained staff, in conjunction with other agencies who provide specialized services. The goal of Head Start is to provide children of low-income families with a comprehensive program to meet their emotional, social, physical, nutritional and psychological needs.
Mrs. Ezzell and Ms. Ferguson work together to help provide each child with the experiences needed to develop a positive self concept. Activities are planned throughout the year to involve parents in enhancing the child's intellectual growth.
