  • Caritas Internationalis
    This is a confederation of 162 Catholic relief, development and social service organizations working to build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed, in over 200 countries and territories. Caritas’ mandate includes integral development, emergency relief, advocacy, peace building, respect for human rights and support for proper stewardship of the planet’s environment and resources.

  • Catholic Campaign for Human Development
    This is the domestic anti-poverty, social justice program of the U.S. Catholic bishops.

  • Catholic Relief Services
    CRS is the official international relief and development agency of the U.S. Catholic community. The agency serves the poor in over 100 countries overseas through programs in emergency relief, HIV and AIDS, health, agriculture, education, microfinance and peacebuilding.
     
  • Catholic Charities USA
    A private network of social service organizations which aims to help people become self-sufficient. Provides services such as child care, adoption, disaster relief, job training, youth services, soup kitchens, services to persons with

  • St. Vincent de Paul Society
    An international charitable organization which provides help to the needy, physically impaired, imprisoned, sick and poor; also operates several thrift stores, manufacturing and recycling ventures, emergency services and job training.

  • Center of Concern
    This is an international center that studies issues of development, justice, and peace from a Christian perspective, particularly through the len of Catholic Social Teaching.

  • Bread for the World
    Bread for the World is a nationwide Christian movement that seeks justice for the world's hungry people by lobbying our nation's decision makers.

  • Food for the Poor
    An organization established in 1982 to raise funds and provide direct relief to the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  • Catholic Worker Movement
    Founded by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin in 1933, CWM is grounded in a firm belief in the God-given dignity of every human person. Today over 175 Catholic Worker communities remain committed to nonviolence, voluntary poverty, prayer, and hospitality for the homeless, exiled, hungry, and foresaken. Catholic Workers continue to protest injustice, war, racism, and violence of all forms.

  • Human Rights USA
    The fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was the cause for the creation of this site. It offers easy access to many materials relevant to human rights issues and other links to human rights sites. An up-to-date calendar lists human rights activities and events.

  • Institute for Peace & Justice
    The Institute for Peace and Justice is committed to the challenge "if you want peace, work for justice."

  • NETWORK
    A national Catholic social justice lobby, educates, lobbies, and organizes to influence the formation of federal legislation to promote economic and social justice. This Web site provides excellent resources and up-to-date legislative information, along with an excellent feature entitled, "What You Can Do."

  • People of Life
    This is the Pro-Life Action Campaign of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.
    "People of Life" was launched by the Catholic bishops to encourage those willing to stand together as a people of life and speak against the destruction of human life with one voice.
     
  • Catholics Against Capital Punishment
    This site was established in 1992 to promote greater awareness of Catholic Church teachings that characterize capital punishment as unnecessary, inappropriate and unacceptable in today's world.

  • PAX Christi USA
    PAX Christi strives to create a world that reflects the Peace of Christ by exploring, articulating, and witnessing to the call of Christian nonviolence.

  • US Catholic Conference of Bishops - Department of Social Development & World Peace
    This is the national public policy agency of the U.S. Catholic Bishops. The Department has two permanent offices: Domestic Social Development and International Justice and Peace.

  • Poverty Net
    This site from the World Bank is filled with resources and support for persons "working to understand and alleviate poverty." Reports, studies, and access to current statistics can easily be found on this site.

SERVEnet is an incredible resource for service programs and service learning!

    Tolerance.org is a Web project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a national nonprofit civil rights organization that promotes tolerance and diversity and combats hate and discrimination through education, investigation, and litigation. This easy-to-navigate site includes activities for students, and a guide to the best tolerance-related sites on the Web.
