Why not Arts ? Many friends
kept on encouraging me to study Arts and Music, but I say no. Why ? I think
that Arts and Music is only for a person's soul, and feelings, I can only
influence a person's passion and feelings, but not their lives. When they
see my work, my drawings or music's in their mind will soon fade away,
and I have improve nothing, I cannot change a person's viewpoint, or even
make a person to be better. Why we want to twist people's feelings and
emotions ? Is it to make them love me ? Would this be very self-interest
?
Although I know Violin,
Guitar, Composing songs, singing, calligraphy, drawing, etc. But that is
just for my self-improvement, not for my courier. Having a knowledge in
Arts or Music is good, but to put it as my courier, I think it have much
more to do with that. I don't want people just see how's my works is, I
want to make people to created things, to live with my things, and to make
things to people. I do it for them to do it, get it ? If they just buy
my things and feel it, it's too fake and wasting of time.
Why not Humanities or Social
Science ? Psychology only makes people feel good, couldn't really
save the world. Helping a person provides a very minimal improvement, we need
to have real effect on the whole society. But this does not mean that Social
Science and Humanities is not vital; I think that psychology and sociology, philosophy,
politics, economics etc. is good, for it make us see through many things
and it had made my mind clearer. But even my mind is clear, those are
just a part in me, and I won't take it as a job, for I think it has not much
effect; we can only say things, analyze things, but cannot have much practical and so it creates less improvements.
Why Science ? I think that
only science can change our society; not saying good change or bad change,
once there is change, you feel good. One single invention can change the
whole societies way of living. Although science has not been upgrading our living
and life purpose, but a person that invent feels very good. Thus, only
science can change the society. Science is the making of the seen. Things
that can be seen. Not like others, only feelings and teachings; science
is more realistic. At least you know what you are doing.
I like laboratories, that's
why I like science. Hope I can one day have my own lab, and do my own research.
We all need a space for our own life, and I think science can give me that.
