As Iggy was going off to ask for directions to where Fluffy lived, a crow came down right in front of him. Iggy knew every part of Central Park, and he had never seen this character before.
When the crow opened its mouth to speak, Iggy detected a strong Brooklyn accent. "Hey, pal. Ise couldn't help overhearing your conversation. I ain't no busybody, but Ise just happened to be in the tree above where youse and the fancy lad was discussing tings."
Iggy looked at the crow suspiciously. "What do you know about it?"
The crow was quick to assuage his suspicions. "Hey, take it easy. I'm just passing along a little information. See, Ise flying over the Park yesterday, and I sees a squirrel arguing with a cat and two pigeons. Theyse really seemed angry with each other theyse yelling really loud. Ise didn't tink much of it at the time, but now that I heard youse's conversation, it has to be important."
Iggy was excited. He might get a break on the case without having to risk being drowned in Fluffy's pool. "Can you tell me any more? Could there be anyone else who saw the same thing?"
The crow shrugged. "I don't know no more, but Ise did see a Beagle and a Siamese in the area at the same time. Maybe theyse seen something?"
"Thanks." The Beagle had to be Sloopy, and the Siamese had to be Walenda. They were in the park at least four times a day. They must have witnessed something.
