AWAY FROM HOME
When I am not at home or visiting family,
It’s in the Lord’s temple I want to be.
For there sweet peace and contentment
Are found in abundance, and is heaven sent.
The faces that greet you are just like family,
Friends you want to meet through eternity,
The smiling eyes so bright with love,
You know will last till we meet above.
Each room has a some special meaning,
Each act, us closer to God do they bring,
Every time we help another waiting soul,
Will help set them free and reach their goal.
Whatever we do in this His temple pure,
Will someone’s salvation help insure,
Bringing joy to a long waiting one,
When at last there work is done.
Sometimes I do not want to leave
Till many more tasks I do achieve,
For I’m sure this temple built for all
Is a taste of heaven, so come and call.
Feel the love of God like a blanket warm,
Keeping us close to Him free from harm,
Just a little sacrifice is not asking a great deal,
When we can set folks free and ourselves heal.
