IN THE BAPTISTRY
Working in the baptistry preparing for the youth to come
I could feel the spirits waiting for their work to be done,
A bustle of excitement wafted through the silent air,
I wondered just how many were patiently waiting there.

I could hear a sound like a breeze in some lofty trees,
Or the call of far distant waves of some mighty seas,
A feeling of hope, longing and joy was there that night,
Had my spiritual eyes been open, what a spiritual sight.

The youth came in reverence, quiet as they could be,
I wonder if they felt those spirits waiting to be set free?
Everything went smoothly, love dwelt in each heart
As a small group of youth so willingly did their part.

I could tell by their eyes and the way home they went
That they knew for a few souls they had been heaven sent,
Many spirits went on rejoicing along the path of light
And will be eternally grateful for the youth last night.
