FAREWELL TO THE TEMPLE
For two weeks we have to go up north to help the family,
And during that happy time our mission call we should see,
Going somewhere strange, may be far away to serve the Lord,
Reactivating members or spreading His great word.

So farewell dear holy temple, no more through the doors we’ll go,
How much we’ll miss it we don’t think we will know
Until we cannot enter in, cannot feel of the healing power
Within the walls of the temple where we spend many a long hour.

We’ll miss that special love that abounds within these walls,
We’ll miss the muffled foot falls along the sacred halls,
We’ll miss all the familiar faces that we meet every day,
And the perfect peace that is found, here we want to stay.

But now is the time of new beginnings, another path to tread,
Grow in another field of the gospel, still being spiritually fed
As we go to serve a mission, as we promised long ago
When two missionaries knocked on our door, changing our lives so.

A new adventure starting, a new phase of life begun,
Maybe many souls for Jesus can somehow be won.
But part of our hearts will stay in this temple serving
And on many a cold night of the sweet temple dreaming.
