THE TEMPLE AT NIGHT
The temple has gone so quiet and very serene,
Just the last session to finish, the day then complete,
There was much work done, the temple, busy has been,
Not one session cancelled, that is a welcome treat.
One by one the saints are now all homeward bound,
Filled with that special spirit when serving within
The temple where sweet peace and love are found,
No outside pressures, no sound of worldly noise or din.
Then the lights go dim, and our dear temple is at rest,
I wonder if those departed stay behind to rejoice?
Those who have accepted, waited, and passed the test,
With their worked complete and made the wise choice.
I’d love to stay the whole night inside the temple walls,
Feel the souls celebrating their new freedom found.
Just one night after a busy day, feel the peace that calls
To a world weary mind and rest to heavenly sound.
If you listen you may hear a jubilant song of praise,
Many voices united in love, amen’s sound from each heart,
I wonder if the rafters ring as those voices are raised
As hundreds weep their thanks for those who did their part?
