CAFETERIA CLOSURE
They are closing the cafeteria,
No more snacks or a meal
Served by smiling, happy faces,
Just machines their foods reveal.
The pots and pans are quite empty,
The ovens as cold as stone,
No welcome smell of cooking,
No chips or fish without a bone.
No hot chilli or small meat pies,
No red jelly or sweet cake,
Just lifeless locked doors,
No dishes that sometimes break.
No more giant sized cookies,
No more butter with a scone,
No tarts or lovely chocolate moose,
The kitchen empty and all alone.
No more youth groups eating
After doing work for the dead,
No more chats among friends
While waiting to be fed.
Goodbye dear Cafeteria staff
Who have served long and well,
We will all remember you
For the good food you used to sell.
