SILK FLOWERS IN THE TEMPLE

Everywhere in the temple arrangements of silk flowers are seen,
In lovely delicate pastel shades blended with many shades of green,
They give a sense of tranquility, these flowers that will never die,
To those who sit to pray and meditate or quietly pass by.

They greet us with beauty as through the temple doors we go,
Then as we walk quietly through they give a welcoming glow,
They are not always obvious, but blend in gently with the decor,
They really help us our God and Saviour to remember and adore.

There are pretty vases everywhere filled with lovely flowers,
To arrange them all someone must have spent many hours.
Pure white roses in a small crystal vase that is so sweet
Greet the sisters before they go to the chapel to take a seat.

They are in the celestial room and attract many a glance of praise,
For the beauty of nature is created in silk, and as on them I gaze,
I often wonder what the flowers will be like in our sweet heaven,
And what other wondrous treasures to us will be freely given.

I know the flowers cannot be real inside God’s home on earth,
But the silk flowers look so well and are of great spiritual worth,
For they are everlasting which sends us a message soft and sweet,
That like silk flowers we never die and one day our loved ones meet.
