FLAME OF HOPE

There is a flame of hope, even in the saddest heart,
We should seek it out and find it, do our small part
To lift those who flounder, those who have lost the way,
Help lead then by the hand to a much brighter day.

It is hard to look into the eyes of those with fading hope,
They look so sad and worn, and quite unable to cope
With all the trials that come to them, life full of fear,
Just let them know by kindly word that help is near.

When the light of hope shines bright and the path is clear,
Even though steep and rocky the way, Our God so dear
Is there we know, so nothing is too hard for us,
We can plod through with life without any fuss.

So always have a cheerful heart, lit by hope from above
Let the world see a path that is led by God’s love,
Your light will grow brighter as you stretch out your hand
To give a sad friend a ray of hope, away from the sinking sand.

Set your light on a candle stick so it may light the way
Through some dark night of fear, to a brighter day,
Let your light so shine that men will praise the Lord
And hope shine eternal as they all praise with one accord.
