ANSWERS TO PRAYERS
I arose early at the break of day,
My prayers I did diligently say,
“Please Lord comfort the sick and lonely,
Take care of those who are cold and hungry,”

I thanked him for my blessings and goodness to me
And those around me, my loving family,
Thanked Him for the gospel’s wonderful plan
And told Him I would help my fellow man.

I thought of old Mary who lay sick in bed
But went off to do my shopping instead
Of spending an hour with my sick friend,
I’ll visit tomorrow, or a card and flowers send.

I saw a beggar, I’ll give when I came back,
But then my money was gone, change I did lack.
I should visit the temple for my kindred dead,
But I went of to Canada’s Wonderland instead.

That night I knelt and bowed my head to pray,
I thanked God for my safety through the day,
Then a thought bowed my head in shame,
My prayers had not been answered again
Because of me some things were not done.
I asked God’s forgiveness and His mercy won.

Next day after my prayers, Mary I went to see,
How we laughed and chatted as happy as can be,
I dropped some change in a derelict’s hand
Visited the temple so lovely and grand.

That night when I bowed my head to pray,
I felt that I had done my very best that day
To make the world a better place to live
Just because just a little time I did give.
