FRIENDSHIPS ETERNAL
The friendships I seek on this earth of ours
Will not last for a few fleeting mortal hours,
Not even a lifetime, there for you all the time,
But friendships for always I want to be mine.
Some friends you may know for many years,
Shared in your joys and sorrows and fears,
Some you meet and a great bond is made
That will last, yet rarely meet it will not fade.
Friendship means giving much and not wanting
Anything in return, it means full trust giving
When trust has been broken, a forgiving heart,
This friendship does last when life will depart.
I have friends that I have known when very small,
Friends that I met yesterday who I hardly know at all,
But because I have a friend in Jesus, I call all friend,
Some will last forever and on those I can depend.
