BRING A LITTLE JOY
Any time you stop to help with a little thing
We may unknowingly just a little joy bring
To someone who is lonely or feeling down,
Put a smile on a face where once was a frown.

Help carry someone’s parcels across the street,
Stop and chat to a lonely person you may meet,
Help someone change a tire in the pouring rain,
Visit the hospital, help a friend to feel less pain.

Write a letter to an old relative living far away,
Forget about yourself for part of each short day,
Even if you are tired give yourself a push and go
And do a kindly deed, but let no one else know.

Walk along the road with a homeless tramp
Give him a blanket to help keep out cold and damp,
If you can, give money for a warm drink and a meal
Then when you get home, see how good you feel.

When you say your prayers remember those in need,
At least in some small way you helped or did feed,
And when those folks you touched kneel to pray,
They will remember your kindness, bless you this day.

Never be too busy or too tired to lend a helping hand,
Do not stop serving others saying God will understand,
Don’t ever idle precious time or waste talents given
‘Twill be the worker not the drone that enters into heaven.
