A PLATE FULL OF COOKIES
It started with a plate full of cookies
placed with love by a door,
A little kindly deed quietly done,
that act started many more,
A cake appeared on a desk at work,
some flowers with no name.
It seems that the whole neighbourhood
was never really the same.
Snow removed by some unseen hands,
a bag of food for a needy family.
A letter of appreciation lovingly written
that made an old man happy.
It does not matter at all what the need,
just that it is secretly done,
And so feel the joy of quietly giving
and a little bit of heaven won.
