TOWELS
Guest towels, bath towels, tea towels and the rest,
No homes are without them, for gifts always the best,
You cant have too many towels. wise people say,
When you have a family, you agree in every way.
The uses for them every day, are almost numberless,
Hygienists would faint at their many different uses,
Using a tea towel to mop up spills and sticky messes,
Even wiping runny noses, crying eyes, magic it possesses.
Bathing a bloodied knee after a nasty fall again and again,
Putting ice in one to sooth a tooth ache and ease other pain.
Used as oven mitts, for hot stuff, when they cant be found.
Even your pets paws are loving, carefully bulkily bound.
What is nicer at the end of a busy day, to soak in the tub,
Then after the soak, with a huge bath towel have a good rub.
When they are worn thin dusters and dish clothes theyll be,
All types of towels seem to have the blessing of longevity.
When Jesus roamed the earth, dusty roads in sandalled feet,
The lowest of the servants when guests came in, he did greet
With a bowl of water and a fresh clean towel, feet to clean,
Wash travellers dirt right away, so sit to eat, refreshed been.
Now just before the Saviour suffered the pains in Gethsemane
Took a bowl of water and towel and went on bended knee
To perform a humble service to those who He called friend,
To show He was willing to serve others to the very end.
