IGNORANCE
‘I did not know they were hungry next door,
I knew there were no big carpets on the floor,
But I didn’t think it my business to inquire about
The needful things they were having to do without.’

‘I did not know there were many homeless on the street,
Some with nothing at all, not even shoes upon their feet.
I was always too busy to stop and see folks all around,
How was I to know that some frozen would be found.’

I cannot believe that people are dying of hunger everywhere,
It is my money I earn, show me and give away my share,
But folks ought to tale care of themselves don’t you agree,
None of these problems really belong to rich fellow like me.

Ignorance is a crime, especially when you close your eyes,
Come and see all the things and have a realistic surprise,
See the great need all around you that need help every day,
And so pave your path to a more thoughtful, truthful way.
