CALLED TO SERVE
Called to serve a mission, called to serve the Lord,
Called to preach the gospel, spread His precious word
To the wise ones who will listen, find hearts that are true,
We are off to serve a mission, thats what were going to do.
We will do our best to teach, to find the wondering sheep,
Rescue the lambs who roamed far from His sacred keep,
We will try and bring them back rejoicing to the fold,
Back from the path of darkness and the unrelenting cold.
Give us the strength to serve Thee in any way we can,
Be willing to follow the Master, teach about His great plan,
Lend a helping hand to any folks who may be in need,
Read the scriptures and pray often so our souls to feed.
We are off to the Winnipeg Mission, where it is cold,
To be a Winnipeg missionary you have to be truly bold,
Northward to the arctic and every place in between
Is where we may be going, the shortest summers seen.
But the people and the beauty of the wild pristine land,
All the creatures great and small that can be found
Will be worth the freezing days and long nights,
As we stop and gaze in wonder at the northern lights.
Prepare us Lord well for our mission, teach us what to say,
Guide us along the path to find those who have gone astray,
Help us do the things that will bring joy to some sad heart,
And so rebuild the saints to live well and so good impart.
