WHAT’S THE WORLD COMING TO
“What’s the world coming to,” a friend said to me today,
She was upset by a story of someone just being left to die,
Folks walked right by did not care or see pain in an eye,
Did not see the suffering or share the hurt in any way.

Yet many other tales are told, where many people care,
They give water to the thirsty on a hot and humid day,
Go out in the winter with soup and blankets for no pay.
So in some respects our world is doing fine somewhere.

It proves there’s good and bad folks around all the time,
And as long as we choose the right, lend a helping hand,
Be the kind of person on whom the Lord can depend,
Then this world and it’s people on the whole will be fine.

Stop and help a neibour, always be the Good Samaritan,
Be willing to put yourself out to go and do a kindly deed,
Go ahead and start a trend of helping those in need,
And one day a voice will say to you, “Well and kindly done.”
