REVERENCE

I love my dear beloved Lord,
He is my Saviour and my King,
I will try my best to honour Him,
Show reverence in everything.

Yet I may be late for church,
For I just had too much to do.
Yet if I were to see the Queen
I’d be on time, wouldn’t you?

I always sit quiet during sacrament,
But often my mind warders off
To the troubles that plague me each day.
Am I being reverent or is that a scoff?

My Saviour suffered and died for me,
He is God’s only begotten son.
Yet I show Him so little reverence
If I’m late, don’t think of this precious one.

We should be a reverent people
We Saints of these latter days,
For we have the gospel’s fullness
And should praise God always.
