More poems about the Saviour as a Teacher

        LIVING OR DYING
A speaker who thought he was wise
asked his congregation, “for the prize
of heaven for Jesus would you die?”
“YES” all the people did gladly reply.

Then he noticed that in their daily living
they were not always kind and giving.
He also realized the error of his ways,
all should live for Jesus all our days.

Sometimes it is easier to die for the right
than to live in God’s wisdom so bright,
often harder to strive to live every day
to suffer a moment then just pass away.

To give of your time, talents and wealth,
have a cheerful heart in sickness and health.
To love and to live just like Jesus would do
that is what He wants our whole life through.

The next time he spoke, he asked the same thing
“Yes” from those people did that question bring.
Then he leaned over the pulpit and said with a smile,
“But Jesus wants you to go always that extra mile.”

His talk told of the things they should try and do,
every day give of your all, all your life through.
Then he asked “Who will give all for Him everyday”
A few put up their hands, others just turned away.

Yes, it is easier to die for a cause that to live like Him.
Yet we need to stay strong instead of giving life or limb.
Be an example, each light shine bright like the Son
so one day our greatest battle then can be won.
