FROM SADNESS TO JOY
Can you imagine the sorrow on that day
When in a tomb they laid the dead Master away.
The grief, the heartache, the hurt and great pain,
Not understanding it had to be eternal life for us to gain.

With slow, sad tread Mary to that garden must had gone,
To anoint His body now that the Sabbath was done,
I can imagine the joy that washed all sorrow away
As she saw the Master on that first Easter day.

Home she came rejoicing eyes shining bright
“He is risen” Those words brought hope and light,
Jesus our Master, Redeemer, Son of the God of love,
Suffered, died, then arose to guide us to heaven above.

How can I ever really show my gratitude and love,
To my Saviour who now with His father reigns above?
A broken and contrite heart, live in goodness every day,
Strive to follow in His footsteps along life’s way.

At Easter time when spring and rebirth is everywhere,
Stop and think of His sacrifice and in humble prayer
Thank a loving God For His beloved Son,
Who meekly said, ‘Father, Thy will be done.’
