CHRISTMAS IS MORE
Christmas is more than holly and mistletoe
More than the cozy fireside bright glow,
More than gifts beneath the Christmas tree
It starts with the angels and the holy nativity.
Christmas is when we know that the angels sang
And that the heavens above with sweet joy rang,
That shepherds came to worship on bended knee,
For the Christ-child was born to set all men free.
Christmas is more by far than cards and gifts
Even more than going to church for spiritual lifts,
More than trying to be always loving and kind,
Christmas is when in our heart the truth we find.
Christmas is the start of the promise long foretold
A promise from the fall of Adam to Malachi of old,
The birth of the Saviour is God’s pure gift to all
The only begotten Son of God to save us from the fall.
