        RETURNING HOME
When Jesus returned to Nazareth to preach
Maybe heal the sick and the truth to teach,
The synagogue was full as He stood to read,
He hoped His friends on the truth to feed.

But when He’d finished reading they did say
Who does this carpenter think he is anyway?
Are not his brothers and sisters living right here?
He is a wicked blasphemer, our Jesus, we fear.

Stone him, for messiahship is does claim,
Wants over us in power to rule and reign.
We know he is Mary and Joseph’s son,
So how can he God glory ever be won?

How sad Jesus’ heart must have been that day
When those recorded words He did quietly say,
“A prophet in His own country is not known”
Can you feel the pain as they lifted each stone?
