        LOVE TO LISTEN
I would have loved to listen to Jesus pray,
What things to His father did He have to say?
I am sure more than our meagre short prayer,
Knew that His dear Father would be there.

He must have prayed for strength to carry on
Knowing of all the things needed to be done,
Prayed for His apostles to stay true and strong,
Prayed for the thousands in each following throng.

In words so simple and sweet an example he gave,
His prayer, a sure guide that will lead us and save,
I wonder if He prayed for us to have a forgiving heart,
So He in turn could do His incredible, immortal part.

I would loved to have kneeled right by His side
As His joys and sorrows from Father he did not hide,
I know he would talk in a sweet tender loving tone,
To a Father who may have left His heavenly throne.

Did they talk together all through a long serene night
Bathed in some celestial, ethereal, eternal light?
Next time we kneel down to Father in sweet prayer,
Take a picture of Jesus, so feel their presence there.
