UNTO THE LEAST
When Jesus told the parable of the goats and sheep,
He explained how we serve Him and His ways keep,
We are to do good to all men, especially the poor,
Not serve the rich and famous and others ignore.

Someone in rich apparel needs a helping hand,
Do it of cause, but not for praise so very grand,
Treat prince and pauper in the very same way,
Or things might not go well come judgement day.

Being esteemed well of important men may be good
They see a glowing picture, living truth as we should,
But if some poor old beggar or derelict comes one day,
Would we treat them as well or even better in any way.

‘One of the least’ Jesus so wisely to his followers said,
All His children, need to be temporally and spiritually fed,
Do we have the right to say I’ll help one and not the other
He is too poor, or much too dirty, he cannot be my brother.

It does not matter if mankind think us good or ill,
What matters is that we strive to do the Mater’s will,
Do good to all men, every command and covenant keep
And we will not be counted with the goats but the sheep.
