RISING OF LAZARUS

John Ch 11: vs 32- 46
The mourners still stood around Lazarus front door,
Would pain heal, could life be worth living once more?
Then Jesus came four long days too late to offer to heal
His dear friend Lazarus, who served Him with such zeal.

If only you could have come, our brother would not have died,
Said Mary and Martha, his sisters, oh, how hard they had cried.
I think Jesus must have smiled one of His most loving smiles,
That He may use for us as we struggle through our many trials.

I wonder if they felt the comfort of Him just being right there,
Feeling His healing power, yet being totally, blindly unaware
Of the plan set forth by God above of what the Saviour would do,
Let those around know He is God’s Son, send the message through.

Four long days Lazarus had lain dead, his body starting to decay,
In the heat of the desert, that does not take very long they say,
“Come forth Lazarus” A voice full of power as from heaven above,
“Come and join the living, come back to the family that you love.”

Wonder, joy and confusion came when Lazarus burial robes fell,
Who but a God, could him who was now four days dead, compel
To arise and live and breath, to run and walk and feel well again.
The wicked ones were scared and angry, the good knew His name.
