LOAVES AND FISHES
Mark 6:38-44
We had followed Jesus all through the day,
Then sat and listened to all He had to say,
Time seemed to stand still, as hours flew by,
Those precious words brought tears to my eye.
Mama ,Im hungry, my youngest one quietly said,
Then I wondered how many folks could all be fed,
The multitude was great, all around I could see
Folks of all ages, thousands about there must be.
We were about nine rows back in the massive crowd
Then I saw a little boy with food, he said not too loud,
Use these Lord, share my loaves and fishes, I smiled
Oh, for the faith and trust of a young innocent child.
Then somehow the little basket grew until there was more,
The sweetest delectable fish came our way, many a score,
Fresh bread like warm like just out of the oven it came,
Oh. How people shouted praises to His great, holy name.
Our family could not eat all the food that came our way,
From a few fishes and a little bread I can truthfully say,
I would love to know what happened to the little boy
Whos first show of faith brought many so much joy.
He had fed my heart and soul with words sweet and divine
Then He feeds me physically this great loving master of mine,
Some say he will overthrow Rome with a swipe of His hand,
Trample them underfoot like dirt and the desert hot sand.
I think He loves all men too much to want to destroy,
But He wants to teach them love and faith like that boy
Who presented his meagre meal to be blessed so to feed
The hungry, the helpless, and give succour to all in need.
