THE CHILD JESUS
I am sure Mary taught Him to pray,
His head resting upon her knee,
The first words of a little child
just like you and me,
Learning how to talk, slowly day by day
like any other child grew,
Luke said, Jesus increased in wisdom and
stature I wonder when He knew
That He was very different, knew his great
purpose set by God above,
I am sure he must have had a true depth
of everlasting love.
His holy head bowed in prayer each day
by His mothers knee,
Every act learned as a little child, was His
preparation for all eternity.
As our children learn at a loving mothers
gentle humble knee,
We are preparing them as Mary did Jesus
for their place in eternity.
