I KNOW MY SAVIOUR LIVES
When I was very young, and I heard of Jesus on earth,
How He healed the sick and taught things of great worth,
I began to love Him deeply in a sweet, simple childlike way,
Trusted in the things I knew of Him, I’d learn more one day.

As I grew older I tried to remember my Jesus I had known,
Would He still love me now I was older, more grown?
I knew He loved little children, I could always feel His love
And believed all little children went straight to heaven above.

I married, had a child, and I knew He loved my daughter so,
I told her as a tiny baby the Jesus stories that I did know,
I could see the understanding in those hazel eyes so bright,
For they were filled with purity and God’s everlasting light.

Then we heard about the gospel, truth made known to men,
Truth about God’s great love, like Jesus taught way back when
He taught of truth and light, explained about His sacrifice divine,
And how He suffered in Gethsemane for your sins and mine.

I love my dear Redeemer, my Saviour, Lord and my king,
And I know my Redeemer lives again salvation to bring,
He is no floating spirit, for He arose and was alive truly again,
‘Feel my hands and feet’ He said, and He was free from pain.

I know that my redeemer lives, praise His holy sacred name,
He loves everyone, those still to come, those already who came,
I know He loves me, unworthy as I am, He suffered for me,
I love Him and I’ll try hard to be with Him through eternity.
