A POEM FOR JESUS
Dear Saviour, now dwelling in heavens glory,
How I love to read thy lifes wondrous story,
Id like to write a poem of the joy in my heart
So thank Thee the best I can, do my small part.
I dont know if thine eyes, be blue, brown or green,
But I do know of the love-light that was always seen,
Shining with a depth of love, that is fathomless to man,
But Ill try my uttermost to emulate it the very best I can.
I cannot tell what shade of hair covered thy noble head,
But I know it was crowned with thorns, and thou bled
For my sake and others, thy anguish never really known,
Just so we thy siblings may gain a heavenly throne.
I do not know if thy caring hands were large or small,
But I know they always blessed and healed one and all
Who came and begged for mercy with a gentle touch,
And wiped away many a tear of those who suffered much.
I wish I could have helped carry the cruel cross to Calvary,
Given thee sweet water to drink, wiped thy face for thee,
Held thee in my feeble arms when they took thee from the tree,
Been soaked by the storm that raged, as a God died for me.
Help me lift my sin bound heart in tribute to thy name,
Let the words flow from my soul, feel the healing rain,
Let me worship at the feet of Jesus my dearest friend,
For I know He never leaves me, Hell be with me to the end.
